It’s on… it’s off
Ah Saturday Sport.
Are we playing or is it off?
This was our question this morning.
It has been raining in Sydney most of the week, which usually means no Soccer on Saturday. But on Friday evening the ground that Jordy was to play at was still open. This morning we awoke to more rain, but still no messages to say his game was cancelled. So we started to get ready. I rugged up in all my wet weather gear, we got a change of clothes for Jordy and some towels. Off we went, only to get a message just after we left to say that the game was called off.
Jordy was rather dissappointed as we had been talking about how much fun it was to play in the rain. Oh well.
Back home, and the rain is still falling and seems to be getting heavier. We call the wet weather number for netball. We get a message telling us that the games are still on…… for the 23rd of May! Nothing like an up to date message.
We ring some other parents of netballers who are already at the courts, and yes it is pouring with rain, and yes the games are still on!
So once again I rug up and head off to the game, the closer we get to the courts the darker the sky gets and the more rain seems to be falling. Arriving at the courts we realise that the game is still on as parking lot is full. Thank goodness for the tiny Getz. (you can always find a parking spot with the Getz)
We meet our team manager who is not happy about the state of the courts and the safety of playing in the pouring rain, she is told by the “authorities” that it is all safe.
When we get to the court we see an ambulance, and are informed it is the third one for the day! (it’s only 11:30am) So much for this game being safe in the wet! There are three parents that will have something to say about that!
Anyway the girls make it through without incident and apart from being soaked to the skin had a fun time.
Another Saturday of sport is over….. time to rest…
Here are a couple of shots from warmer days.

I am working at a conference this week. This means that I have a lot of time to sit and write, think, watch and generally catch up on things that don’t require to much concentration.
I spend most of my time sitting behind a sound desk making sure that you can hear the main speaker and making sure that their PowerPoint presentation keeps on working. When everything goes OK then you have a lot of time to do things like update your blog. When things are not going OK it usually means that you have not done your job properly and you have missed something so you have to sort out the problem. Thankfully 99% of the time we get it right.
So seeing that everything is going well I have been spending some time looking at the “back-end” of this website. And I have discovered some rather interesting facts and figures.
There have been 568 posts
Those 568 posts have received 190 Comments
The 568 posts have been looked at 4469 times.
The busiest day had 95 views and it was January 2 this year
But the most amazing statistic is that of those 4469 views 2635 of them were for one page! That page was the was one which has a photo of Alannah with the girls from the Saddle Club.

Saddle Club
So I think I have stumbled across a way to make my website really popular, just add the words Saddle Club into your text and watch those numbers fly!
Quad Camera!
Ohh a new toy for me. This is known as a Quad Cam. The camera takes four shots over four seconds and then puts them into one shot. Makes for an interesting action shot. So be prepared for a rush of photos taken with the new Quad Cam.
Too quick
One day they are like this
And in the blink of an eye they are like this….
Come on!
We recieved the local rag tonight and have been expecting to see a picture of the local netball teams that won the other week. Marlee grabbed it first, flicked through the pages and said “nothing in it this week”. I then picked it up and started to read it, once I got past the four pages of local council election rubbish I noticed a very small article about the netballers. Beside this article are three pictures, the pictures are about the size of a five cent piece! To actually see anything you needed to get out a magnifying glass, which as you can see is what we did.
Oh well if we want to get decent coverage we will have to head to Wagga!
