For one person only!

with 2 comments

This post is really for one person only.

I am currently working at a conference at Darling Harbor Convention Centre.

This is the 14th Australian Library and Information Association – Information Online Conference & Exhibition.

Where is my sister in law?

Off line

without comments

Sometimes it feels good to shut down, turn off the computer and turn off the TV.
And now that the Olympics are over I can finally do it. Seems strange to say that but I must admit I am one who does get caught up the whole thing. I think that I can blame it on my childhood (well that’s what I am going to do) you see growing up I always had either the Olympics or Commonwealth Games on during a major exam period. Which meant while the rest of the family sat down and enjoyed the events I was stuck in my room with my head in a book! Now for some of you having your head in a book during the Olympics sounds like a wonderful alternative to seeing people running jumping or swimming, but for me there is nothing better than sitting in front of the box for hours on end watching these amazing folks strut their stuff (all except syncronised swimming)
Well as we all know the games are over for another four years so I have pleanty of time to get on with my life.
Which brings me back to switching the computer and TV off. Which means I need to stop this little post and go and find a good book!

500

without comments

Just noticed that the last post was number 500! Which would then make this number 501. Gee that doesn’t seem a lot when you consider I have been posting for over three years.

But then if you have been reading them all i would think that it would be a lot!

A bachelor for a day

without comments

Well a bachelor for two days to be exact. What a strange feeling it has been. Marlee and the kids have been visiting friends at Sussex Inlet for the last three days, which has been perfect timing as i have had a fairly heavy workload of editing. It has been nice to come home from work and go straight to the computer and just edit with out any interruptions. Having said that I do miss them all very much. I think the strangest thing has been in the mornings, waking up and not hearing any noise.

Being able to make noise as I get ready to leave as also been great.

In fact I was late getting to the pool this morning because I took my time getting ready! Normally the alarm goes off, I jump (fall) out of bed, put on the clothes that were laid out the night before.  Slip into the bathroom then slip out the front door, trying not to wake anyone. This takes around three minutes. This morning I turned on lights, made choices about clothes, took longer in the bathroom and finally slammed the front door closed! Grand total of ten minutes! My poor swimming buddy was left freezing, waiting in his bugie smugglers for me to turn up this morning.

Anyway things are back to normal tonight as they all arrive back this afternoon.

Deep

without comments

Deep, how to write something deep and meaningful?
mmm something inside me tells me that I am not one to be writing deep
thoughts on a blog.
I read others blogs and they pour out their hearts and souls into
what they are writing, for me i tend to snap a picture and think, oh
that looks good I’ll have to put that up on the blog.

Why am I writing all of this? Well to be honest i have run out of
pictures………..

No only joking.

I was just trying to have a blog post that had more than a dozen
words in it.
So here you are, a long post that was supposed to be something deep
and meaningful and it ends up being nothing more than the ramblings
of a middle aged man!
